This is a Watusi bull figurine from Safari Ltd.(r). Watusi are a breed of Sanga cattle, the indigenous cattle of Africa below the Sahara Desert. They are known for their very large horns, which are not just long but also thick, with the largest circumference of any cattle breed. Watusi cows do not give much milk but the milk has a high butterfat content, which helps calves grow rapidly. They have a strong herd mentality and do not like to leave their herd mates. Watusi cattle is used as a status symbol so they are rarely slaughtered for meat. This hand-painted, highly detailed mini Watusi bull has some serious horns.
