Large hunting dogs were long used in Europe, and the Great Dane may have its roots in Molossian hounds, Suilot dogs, and other dogs which were brought in to increase the size of the hunting dogs even more. The name "Great Dane" was decided upon in 1755 due to strained relationships between Germany and other countries. This Great Dane is standing at attention, showcasing the size and stature of the breed. From its floppy ears to its thin curving tail, it exemplifies the “greatness” of these dogs. This mini Great Dane figure is approximately 4.75in. long from nose to tail, and 3.5 inches to the top of its head. This figure represents the “blue” coat of the Great Dane, meaning its fur is a dark, steely gray-blue. Its eyes are brown.
